

Louise was born May 24, 1931, in Ruffin, NC, daughter of the late James Wesley (Buddy) Dickerson and Minnie Thelma Davis Dickerson. She died after a fall and brief illness and was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Edwards, and siblings, Harold Dickerson, Ruby Moore, and Leola Meador. Louise attended Ruffin High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. She met the love of her life and married her husband of 65 years, Donald Ray Edwards.
Louise enjoyed a life on the farm, growing up priming tobacco, picking cotton, and raising her three children on a commercial chicken farm. Many remember her for her sweet, kind words and generosity. She was a beloved member of High Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Lions Club and served on the boards for the Unionville Community Center and Unionville Women’s Club.
Survivors include brother Claude Dickerson (wife Carrie) of Mechanicsville, VA; sister Lucille Blankenship of Reidsville, NC; two sons, Charles Edwards (wife Linda) of Dawsonville, GA; Rex Edwards of Monroe, NC, and one daughter Linda Edwards Duskus (husband Michael) of Little River, SC; Grandchildren, Leslie Jones (husband Taylor), Layla Hood, Megan, Jennifer, Sarah, and Kate Edwards.
Visitation will be Friday, November 25, at 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home (204 S Main St, Monroe, NC 28112). Services to celebrate the life of Louise will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022, at High Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
