

Marlene B. Jones went to be with our Lord on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at the age of 77. Marlene was born into the loving family of Wilburn Clegg Brown and Doris Gibson Brown on July 21, 1937 in Iredell County.
Predeceased by her father, mother and her husband Bob of 52 years.
Lovingly remembered by her daughter Michele and husband Tim Ragan their children Aaron, Emily and Aiden Ragan, her son Mark and children Ashley, Brandon and Thomas Jones, his fiancé Melissa Henry, and children Andrew Jones and Michael, Margaret, and Kaylana Henry.
Her siblings; Brownie, Carolyn, Betty Ann, Elaine, Jeanette, and Johnny.
Marlene graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1956 and received her associate’s degree from Kings College and quickly joined the workforce. Marlene married Bob Jones on February 9, 1962. Marlene was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and books. Marlene served as a Sunday School Teacher and youth group leader for many years. Some of her favorite ways to spend her days were her daily visits from her daughter and grandchildren along with phone conversations with her siblings. Marlene’s intelligence and love for her family were obvious to everyone who met her.
Marlene retired from The Engineering and Technical Division at Central Piedmont Community College.
The service will be at Memorial United Methodist Church at 4012 Central Ave. at 11:00am on Saturday June 6, 2015. The visitation will be at 10:00am in the parlor.
Immediately following the service their will be a joint burial for Bob and Marlene at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Lawyers Road.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to either Memorial United Methodist Church, or the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library.
