Mildred Crook Greene

Mrs. Mildred Crook Greene 91 passed away August 14, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center-Union. A native of Monroe, NC, she was born March 4, 1920. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Crook.

She is preceded in death by her son, David Issac (Ikey) Greene; her two brothers Marvin Crook Sr., Harold Crook and her sister Peggy Gordon.

Surviving relatives are her husband, Deuel Vance Greene and daughter, Patsy Greene Gilmore; son-in-law Warren Gilmore and daughter-in-law Jackie Greene. Sisters: Dorothy (Dot) Crook and Frances Hawfield. Grandchildren: Ikey Greene of Monterey, Mexico, LeAnn Greene Moore of Waxhaw NC, Lori Elizabeth Gilmore of Charlotte, NC and Kathryn Jordan Gilmore of Monroe NC. Great Grandchildren: David Isaac and Lucas Gabriel of Monterey, Mexico.

Deuel and Mildred enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage, as well as co-owning and operating Greene’s Nursery of Monroe, NC for over 40 years.

The Greene family will receive friends on Tuesday August 16th from 6 to 8 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, NC. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday August 17 at the McEwen Funeral Home Chapel in Monroe, NC. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
