Mr. Helms is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Helms and by his sister, Carol Helms.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dixie Helms; his sons, Tim Helms and Chad Gurley; his daughter, Vicky Welch and by his pride and joy, grandson, Joshua Dale Helms.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm Thursday, August 19, 2021 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Helms will begin at 2:00pm in McEwen Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow in Hill Family Cemetery with military honors.
