He was born in Richmond county, NC, on October 2, 1959, son of Richard W. O'Brien Sr., and Bobbie Maness O'Brien.
Rick is survived by his son, Troy O'Brien of Burlington, NC; his father Rick Sr., and step-mother, Leslie, of Mt. Olive, AL. His brother Eddie O'Brien and sister-in-law, Jennifer of Helen GA.; sister Vicki Wood of Alabama; his grandmother, Stella Maness of New Bern, NC; also several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, August 8th, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Home. A Memorial Service to celebrate Richard's life will begin at 1:00 PM in McEwen's Colonial Chapel.
