As a Union County native, Sadie attended Benton Height and graduated from Wingate High School in 1951. She had many milestones and achievements in her life including serving as the Indiana State President for the Women Missions Union (WMU) for five years as well as being awarded as Woman of the Year by the Indianapolis Council on Aging. She was also very active in various ministries including her commitment as a Sunday school teacher, WMU worker in the Central Baptist Association, and serving at Oakland Baptist Church.
Sadie is predeceased by her husband, Royd Pareson (R.P.); and parents, Allen and Gladys Bigham. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Marie Evans, Cynthia Denise Tilton, and Sheila Francine Beasley; sister, Brenda Kay Godwin; grandchildren, Donaka Rumley, Chad Evans, Nick Haner, Uriah Ellis, Colleen Jones, Matthew Tilton, Rachel Lovett, and Emily Beasley; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
Her life and history will stand as a testimony to her faith in both God and Jesus, and her legacy will be one of faithful obedience and self-sacrifice in the service of others. Join us in celebrating the life of a wonderful, gracious woman of God.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Oakland Baptist Church, located at 600 E. Sunset Drive, Monroe, North Carolina from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service to celebrate her life will then follow at 2:00 pm at Oakland Baptist Church with committal immediately following at Lakeland Memorial Park.
