

Alan graduated college from Boston University. He served in WWII with the Army Air Force serving in England as a bomber. His first wife, Florence, Alan took care of for 12 years with Alzheimer’s. He met his second wife, Lucille, on the golf course and together they rode off into the sunset together. Alan was an avid golfer, having and average score of 7 above par. He was a soft spoken, kind, loving gentle man who everybody loved. Alan published two books. A child’s book, Paddy Puddle and Candle in a Glass.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Adler Goldsmith; daughter, Laura Diamond (Larry); sons, Randall Goldsmith and Stuart Goldsmith (Lori); grandchildren, Erica and Kevin Cunningham, Jared and Jessica Diamond, Kimberly and Joshua Forgue, Aaron Goldsmith, Ariel Goldsmith and Joshua Goldsmith; great grandchildren, Tyler and Brady Cunningham, Jack, Alec and Ella Diamond; two step children, Marc Adler and Susan King; step grandson, Timothy King.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in his honor to Temple Beth Or for the Floral Fund, 2246 Narrow Lane Road, Montgomery, AL 36106.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Temple Beth Or.
