Carol K. Petty, born in Birmingham, AL was a long-time resident of Montgomery, and retired to Dadeville. She attended Woodlawn High School and graduated from Misses Howard’s School in Birmingham. She continued her studies at Auburn University. Mrs. Petty retired from the State of Alabama Health Department where she contributed to life-safety technical services. Her colleagues recognized her attention to detail and appreciated her organizational skills. As a devoted daughter, wife, and mother she always put family first. In addition to enjoying arts and crafts, she loved to garden, play piano, and sew. No holiday gathering was complete without her and her delicious potato salad.
She is survived by her husband of over 67 years, Erwin Petty and three daughters: Vivian Martin (David), Valerie Mosley (Eddie) and Vanessa Fleming (Sam), five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home 10505 Atlanta Highway Montgomery, AL. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers are welcomed as are donations to a charity of your choice in her memory.
