
Catherine Hankins Freeman, 45, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on April 6, 2012 following a sudden illness. Catherine was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Dr. John Gordon and Elaine DeBuys Hankins. She is survived by her husband Dr. William Crawford Freeman of Montgomery, son John Crawford DeBuys Freeman of Birmingham, daughter McRae Middleton Freeman of Montgomery, mother Elaine DeBuys Hankins of Birmingham, sister Ashley Hankins Ahrens (Will) of Nashville, Tennessee, and brother Patrick Gordon Hankins of Birmingham.
Raised in Birmingham, Catherine graduated from John Carroll Catholic High School and attended The University of Montevallo. After marrying, Catherine and Bill resided briefly in Gainesville, Florida and then settled in Montgomery to live and raise their two children. Catherine enjoyed a long career as a Senior Account Executive with InnerSpaice Architectural Interiors. She enthusiastically worked with the Children’s Choir at Christ Church, served on the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic Board and participated in several committees at The Montgomery Academy. Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her family and an abundance of friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at Christ Church, 8800 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36117. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Catherine’s memory to Christ Church or the American Cancer Society.
