Hayden Lee Scott Borland was born to Paul and Debby Scott in Lee County on February 20, 1970. After a courageous three-month battle with cancer, she went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2025. She was surrounded by her husband and children at her lake home in Eclectic, Alabama.
Along with her parents, Paul and Debby Scott, Hayden is survived by her loving spouse of almost 35 years, Steve Borland; two sons, Travis Borland and his wife, Sarah, and Cole Borland; one daughter, Lawson Borland; one sister, Ellen Herring and her husband Jon; one niece, Barrett Herring; and one nephew, Brady Herring. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends who will miss her greatly.
Hayden was an active member of the Landmark Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama. She had a strong faith and never wavered in her belief that God had a plan for her life. She had no doubts when she left this earth, she would go to her home in heaven and see the face of Jesus and all those loved ones who had gone before her. Hayden was the business manager for Adams Drugs close to three decades. She was more than a manager; she cared deeply for the well-being of each and every employee. There have been many stories shared of how she helped people. Her uncle Mike called her the "rock" of Adams Drugs. She never complained, never got rattled; she was a strong, steady, calming influence each and every day. She will be greatly missed at work.
Hayden graduated from Alabama Christian Academy in 1988. She went to David Lipscomb her freshman year in college, then returned to Montgomery and completed her degree at AUM. Hayden and Steve sent their three children to ACA and worked tirelessly during those years in support of the school. Hayden served on the ACA Board of Directors, and she and Steve managed the concession stand for many years. The school held a special place in her heart.
Although Hayden will no longer be with us, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. Her memory will Be a blessing as we learn to live without her. May we strive to carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Landmark Church with Buddy Bell officiating. The church is located at 1800 Halcyon Blvd, Montgomery, Alabama.
