

Dr. Herman S. "Skip" Noe, 76, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 9th, 2016. The funeral service will be held at Alabama Heritage on Wednesday, December 14th, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lester Spencer officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Alabama Heritage. Skip was a member of Saint James United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman S. Noe Sr. and Lillian Elizabeth Parkman Noe.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years, Sandra Claire Fuller Noe; his daughters Cynthia Lynn Noe Cox and Pamela Claire Noe Rutland (Joe); two grandsons, Edward Earl "Elijah" Cox and Noah James Fuller Cox; and two granddaughters, Madalyn Lori Samantha Cox and Kacy Claire Rutland; sister-in-laws, Carole Daniels (Ralph) and Rebecca Coreno (Rich); four nephews, Ken Coreno (Anna), Jeff Coreno (Rachel), Tommy McKissik (Nora) and Jamie McKissik; close relatives Betty Parkman Letlow and George Parkman and numerous extended family members.
Skip graduated as valedictorian from Chavala High School in Seale, AL. He served his country as a member of the Alabama National Guard Army Reserve during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He graduated Auburn University with a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Psychology. He went on to earn his Ph.D in Clinical Psychology at University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After graduation, he started the South Central Alabama Mental Health Center in Enterprise and Andalusia, AL and served as their directors. In 1978, he began working for the VA Medical Center where he was the Executive Director of the in-patient Alcohol Rehab program at Tuskegee Veterans Hospital for many years. He worked in the VA system for 30 years until his retirement in 2008.
He also taught as an adjunct instructor at Troy University, Montgomery campus from 1985 to present and South University in Montgomery.
Skip was a beloved husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed.
