J. W. Martin

Mr. Martin was known to be a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones deeply and always ensured that they knew just how much they were valued in his life. He also was a steadfast member of the University Church of Christ located in Montgomery, Alabama. Some of his favorite things in life included watching Alabama Football games with his son in law, his special Christmas Peanut Brittle that he made for his loved ones, and sharing his favorite candy, Dove chocolate, with his great-grandchildren whom he adored immensely.

The Martin family expresses how much of a humble, kind, and endearing person J. W. Martin was and how he spent his life prioritizing his loved ones, as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The legacy of honor and family devotion that he has left behind will be carried in their hearts for eternity.

J. W. Martin is predeceased by his father, William R. Martin; mother, Nannie Mitchell Martin; loving wife of over 60 years, Pauline Martin; daughter, Debbie Martin; brothers, Howard Martin, Kenneth Martin, David Martin, Billy (Ann) Martin, Bobby (JoAnn) Martin, Barry Martin, Charles Martin; and one sister, Ruby (JB) Brooks. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Chuck) Drew; granddaughter, Taylor (Josh) Arrighi; grandsons, Chase Dillard and Trent Dillard; great-grandchildren, Kayline Arrighi and Price Arrighi; sister, Peggy Ann (Danny) Magnusson; brother, Donnie (Judy) Martin; sisters in-law, Audra Martin, Glinda Martin, Lynette Martin; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation for Mr. Martin will be held on Monday, August 5th, 2024, at 9:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 AM, services will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama, 36117.
