Mr. Long was born in Prattville, Alabama to the late Johnny Long and Willie Mae Bowman. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Long and Jimmy Davis, a great aunt & mother, Phyllis Davis.
He is survived by his loving wife Eula H. Long; his children, Eula Anderson, James (Judith) Long Jr., Anthony Long, Vivian (Moses) Hooks, and Loretta (Ray) Lewis; four sisters, Mary Jones, Ollie (Riley) Tellis, Viola Jackson, Callie (Jeff) Tyus; a great-sister-in-law, Eunice Davis (Douglas Davis); three brothers, William Davis, Jr, Thomas (Cheryl) Davis, Winston (Brenda) Davis; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Long will lie in repose on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Alabama Heritage.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside with military honors will follow at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery.
