James Davis Tanner

Jimmy was born in Enid, Oklahoma on March 31, 1980. Jimmy moved to Alabama with his parents when he was a teenager. He later met his wife, Sarah, in Montgomery while both were working at a local restaurant in their twenties.

Jimmy lived in Pike Road, Alabama with his wife, Sarah Tanner. He built a strong career as a HVAC technician and enjoyed hanging out with close friends or at home with his beloved pets. Jimmy had a great memory and had a knack for music trivia. He turned every story into something humorous. Sitting next to Jimmy was always fun.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sarah Tanner of Pike Road, AL; his parents, Jim and Kay Tanner of Montgomery AL; sister, Joy Tanner Law (Jeremy) of Fairhope AL; numerous Uncles, Aunts, and cousins. Predeceased by his paternal grandparents Werner and Phyllis Tanner; maternal grandparents Sidney and Norva Davis.

Jimmy’s service will be at Alabama Heritage on Saturday, January 6, 2023. Visitation will take place from 1:00-2:00 and the service will start at 2:00. The officiant will be Sarah’s cousin, Gatus Cheatham. Gatus also married Jimmy and Sarah ten years ago.
