Lewis Walton Ritter

Lewis was born on June 4, 1930 in Samson, AL to the late Ben Lee and Mae Omie Ritter. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Agnes Brooks Ritter; siblings Ben Lee Ritter, Jr. and Leola Ritter Watson. He is survived by his son Rod L Ritter (Sarita); two grandchildren, Chase Ritter (Channing) and Chanley Ritter; great-grandson Stearns Ritter; his brother-in-law Bob Brooks; and his sister-in-law Annette Adkins Thomason.

Lewis was a logistics officer for the Army National Guard for the state of Alabama. He retired following 35 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church – Montgomery and will be dearly missed by his friends and family. The entire Ritter family would like to extend a special thanks to longtime caregivers Pauline Mack and Cynthia Jenkins.

A visitation for LTC Ritter will be held at 11:00 am with service officiated by Pastor Mark Bethea (FBCM) to follow at 12:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117 on Tuesday February 25th, 2025. Burial to follow with full military honors.
