

Peter was a retired author, college professor, motivational speaker, history teacher, preacher, Sunday school teacher, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to many. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Carolyn McCoy; children, Peter L. McCoy (Kimberly) and Carolyn Jeanette McCoy; grandsons, Andrew Reid McCoy, Christopher Lyn McCoy, Matthew Narmour, Calvin Narmour (Chastity); great grandsons, Syrius Narmour, Isakk Narmour, Jaxon Narmour, and nieces, Jody Nixon (David), Leatha Bailey (Tommy), and Tawny Anne Clare Mullins.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Major Andrew Reid McCoy (US Army) and Ursula Käthe Anna Hesse McCoy; and sister, Tamara Mathis; brother-in-law, R. Lynden Hickey, Jr.; and sister in law, Joann Arbuckle Hickey.
We would especially like to thank the Encompass Hospice of Prattville, Alabama. Wallace, Venita, all the nurses and social workers who were so attentive to daddy’s care, and ours. They are a wonderful group of compassionate people.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation on Saturday, November 20, 2021 beginning at ten in the morning with a service to follow at eleven in the morning. The committal service will be held at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
