

Phyllis Rose (Jesse) Krueger of Montgomery, Alabama passed away peacefully September 12 , 2024. Up until the end, Phyllis maintained her deep faith in God and was grateful for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences.
She was born on April 25, 1928 to Henry and Lucille Jesse in Wausau, Wisconsin and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Wausau High School before marrying the late James Joseph Krueger in 1948.
Phyllis was a devoted mother to Kathryn McCollister (John), Linda Grubich (Michael) and Karen Sigtenhorst (Karel). She was also a loving grandmother to Sara McCollister, Brian Couch and Madeline Sigtenhorst. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lucille Jesse, and her husband, James Krueger.
Phyllis was a gifted pianist and shared her talent by playing the organ for her home parishes of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wausau, Wisconsin and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. After her move to Montgomery, she became an active parishioner at St.
Bede's Catholic Church. She was also an avid quilter and created many beautiful pieces that will be cherished by her family for years to come. She was also known to her family and friends as the Christmas cookie lady. Everyone in her orbit looked forward to her many varieties of pretty and tasty cookies which she lovingly shared with many during the holiday season.
A memorial mass for Phyllis will be held at St. Bede's Catholic Church in Montgomery on September 27th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am in the morning with a funeral memorial mass to begin at 10:00 am in the morning.
