July 14, 1952 – May 24, 2025
Ralph Oliver Kyser, Jr., affectionately known as “Jerry,” passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at Baptist Medical Center–East in Montgomery, Alabama, at the age of 72. Born on July 14, 1952, in Tuskegee, Alabama, Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was marked by faith, family, and a tireless work ethic.
Jerry was the proud owner and operator of Kyser Contracting Company, a family-owned business he led with integrity and dedication for many years. His work was more than a job—it was a legacy he poured himself into, one that supported not only his family but many others in the community.
A devoted member of Taylor Road Baptist Church, Jerry's faith was central to his life and a guiding light for his family. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren and made every effort not to miss a game, recital, or school event. Whatever his grandkids were doing, Jerry was there—cheering, supporting, and celebrating each moment with a full heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Oliver Kyser, Sr. and Mary Joyce (Craft) Kyser; siblings James Craft Kyser, Debra Joy Kyser Fleming, Judith “Judy” Leigh Kyser Nulph, and Joel “Joe” Maurice Kyser.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Vickie Joanne (Gibson) Kyser, who stood by his side through every season of life. He also leaves behind: his sons, Jeremy Kyser (Jill), Jason Kyser (Lisa), and Jamie Kyser (Summer), his Grandchildren: Annah Jane Kyser, Christian Kyser, Sarahmarie Kyser, Joshua Kyser, Samuel Kyser, Luke Kyser, Grant Kyser, Clark Kyser, Avery Kyser, and Slade Kyser, Brother Jeff Kyser (Ellen), Sister Janet Kyser Johnson (Kent), Brother-in-law Jim Fleming (Joy),
Brother-in-law Tim Nulph (Judy), Sister-in-law Leigh Ann Kyser (Joe), numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his generous spirit, and the joy he found in even the smallest moments.
“Beloved Husband, Daddy, and Pawpaw…” – words that sum up the man Jerry was and the love he leaves behind.
