

Robert C. Cawley, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Mr. Cawley is survived by his wife, Jill Terry Cawley, his parents, William F. Cawley, Sr. and Janice Manley Cawley, and his brother, William F. Cawley, Jr. (Sally Gonder). Other survivors include his Mother-in-Law, Margie Terry, Brother-in-Law Richard (Yollunda) Terry, and two nieces, Amy Watson and Tia Reed. Also carrying fond memories of Chef Rob are his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was the Director of the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Program at H. Councill Trenholm State Community College, where he was employed for over twenty-five years. Chef Cawley was an active member of the American Culinary Federation and held the ACF Certifications Certified Executive Chef and Certified Executive Pastry Chef. He was also a member of the American Academy of Chefs and was active in two other culinary-related organizations, the L’Ordre des Canardiers, and the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Bruce Huggins, Bobby Mozingo, Ricky Moore, Mike Bush, Charles Duffee, Keith Scott, and Marc McHenry will serve as pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted. Alternatively, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Robert Cawley Scholarship Fund at Trenholm State Community College. .
