21,2011. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Hannah officiating. Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday until service time. Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell D. Kirkland; and one sister, Louise Overall of Atlanta, GA. She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Mitchell “Mickie” West, Montgomery, AL and Krista Kirkland (Lynwood) Clark, Hamilton, AL; two sisters, Ann Simpson, Montgomery, AL, Dorothy Ridolphi, Birmingham, AL; three grandchildren, Ann-Marie (Jack) Stripling, Arlington, VA, Mary Elizabeth (Mike) Bateman, Denver, CO, Sara Clark (Scott) Badger, Birmingham, AL; great grandchild, Sara Lucille (Ceely) Bateman; step grandchildren, Jeff (Alicia) Clark, Hattiesburg, MS, Krista (Tim) Vick, Florence, AL; step great grandchildren, BethAnne Clark, Hunter (Micha) Clark, Lynley Clark, Clark Vick and Anna Claire Vick. In lieu of flowers, the family request in memory of Mitchell and Sara Kirkland, donations be made to the Central Alabama Chapter of the American Red Cross, 5015 Woods Crossing, Montgomery, AL 36106.
