Stuart Brennan Dees, affectionately known to all as Brennan, age 46, of Pike Road, AL, passed away and surrendered his life to Jesus Christ on March 14, 2026. He was born on May 15, 1979, in Montgomery, AL, to Charles Leslie Dees Sr. and Carole Brennan Grant.
A 1997 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, AL, Brennan was a standout athlete whose character was cultivated on the baseball field. Named 1st Team All-Metro in both 1996 and 1997, he carried that momentum into a collegiate career. In 1998, he helped lead Central Alabama Community College to its first-ever program State Championship. He later moved to Chipola Junior College, where he played alongside his brother, Charlie. Known as the “Dees Duo,” they achieved the rare feat of competing together at an elite college level.
Brennan reached the heights of Division I baseball as the starting right fielder for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks in 2000 and 2001, helping lead the team to two NCAA Super Regional appearances. He continued his baseball career after college playing for the Montgomery Wings. Throughout his life, Brennan was described by coaches and friends as a "complete player,” someone who paid attention to small details and was known for his leadership skills and work ethic.
Professionally, he was a dedicated Medical Device Representative for Johnson & Johnson for 16 years. Outside of work, he enjoyed working out, turkey hunting, and sharing his passion for sports.
For all his accomplishments, Brennan’s greatest pride was being a father to his children, whom he loved deeply.
Brennan is survived by his two daughters, Brely Ella Dees and Bailey Kate Dees, and their mother, Emily Windham Dees.
He also leaves behind his father, Charles “Leslie” Dees Sr. and wife Hobbie Register Dees of Montgomery, AL, and his mother, Carole Brennan Grant and husband Charles "Chuck" Brasfield Grant III of Montgomery, AL. He is further survived by his brothers and their families: Charles “Charlie” Leslie Dees Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, along with his daughter Peyton and their son Paxton; Joshua “Case” Grant and his wife, Kaitlin, and their son, Linden; and Charles “Charlie” Brasfield Grant IV.
The family will visit with friends from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Saint James Church 9045 Vaughn Road Montgomery, AL 36117. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM at Saint James Church with interment to immediately follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery 10505 Atlanta Highway Montgomery, AL.
