Wilburn Shelby Hunt

His loving family was with him throughout the last two days of his life. The loving family, Pets, Lolo and Roxie were always close by. He was born in Eufaula, AL on January 30, 1942; preceded in death by his mother, Emily B. Williams, step father, Hugh H. Williams, sister, Elsie Jo Galloway. Wilburn’s childhood and early adulthood were spent in Eufaula, AL, where he attended Eufaula High School and participated in playing football and basketball. Upon graduation from high school he joined the U.S. Air Force in July of 1960 and married his high school sweetheart, Karla Mollath on November 12, 1960. He loved and enjoyed his 23 years of military service, always being a perfectionist. His service time consisted of overseas tours; Crete, Thailand and a tour of duty with family in Italy. Bubber and Karla were blessed and very proud of their three children. He was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide Fan, loved going to the games. A New York Yankee Fan and an avid golfer.

He is survived his loving wife of 55 years, Karla Mollath Hunt. Children, Cynthia “Robin” Rogers (Randy), Karen Phillips Hyatt (Darrell), Brian C. Hunt (Denise). Three Grandchildren, Josh C. Hunt, Brittany Davis (Jeff), Randi Rogers. One Great Grandchild, Macie Davis.

In Celebration of his life a visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service with Pastor Luke Morris officiating.
