William Harold Knighten

William “Bill” Knighten, age 80, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Born May 17, 1937, Bill has always been known for his love of family, friends and fishing. He served his country in the Army and served his Lord as a member of the Perry Hill Road Church of Christ.

Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cindy Knighten. He loved his three children Sherri Evans (deceased), Billy Knighten (wife Rochelle), Leigh Ann White (husband Alan), and adopted daughter Tiara Kent (husband George). He adored his grandchildren Samuel Evans, Steven Evans, Hope Pitts (husband David), Allie Knighten, Jordan White, Hunter White, Olivia Kent, Emily Kent & Whitman Kent.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Margaret Knighten. One brother, Howard Lee Knighten. Two sisters, Helen Beverly and Eva Moody. Two surviving siblings, Jimmy Knighten and Mary Medlock.

A celebration of Bill’s life will take place Friday, December 29, at 12:00 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation is 10:30 a.m. until Noon, with service and graveside to follow.

Pallbearers will be Hunter White, Sam Evans, Steven Evans, Whitman Kent, John Pittman, Wallace Pittman, David Pitts and Carter Knighten.
