

Winslow Thomas Toussaint, 80, of Montgomery, AL died December 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 6, 1937 to Frederick Winslow Toussaint and Margaret Williams Toussaint Stockman. He married Sharilyn Boehme Toussaint on October 13, 1979. He joined the military and from there attended college in Pasadena, CA. His work took him to Texas, Louisiana and eventually to Montgomery. He owned his own publishing company and produced publications throughout the southeast for several military institutions, city directories, The American Institute of Architects and several city Apartment Guides. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Apartment Association, the Apartment Guide Association, Arrowhead Country Club and The Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Cashiers, NC. He was involved with the Air War College and the Air Command and Staff of Maxwell AFB and hosted numerous parties for them where he made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed his second home in the mountains of Cashiers, NC along with extensive travel around the world with his wife, family and friends. One of his favorite destinations was his childhood home on the Eastern Shore of VA where he remained close to many old friends. He had been in the process of planning a reunion there when he became ill. He also loved caring for his property in Montgomery. A special highlight was getting to visit with his children and grandchildren. Tom was always the life of the party wherever he was and never met a stranger. To him life was one big celebration. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mel Toussaint and sister-in-law Carol Toussaint. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharilyn, his son Steve Toussaint, step-son Bobby (Julie) Boehme, step-daughter Cyndie (Josh) Smith, grandchildren Carly (Skeet) Berry, Kathleen Boehme, Cody Smith, Peter (Miriam) Boehme, Anna Beth Boehme and Stephanie (Chris) Parker, great-grandchildren Caylee, Kyleigh and Rebecca Parker, along with special cousins, nieces and nephew. A service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Martin of the United Church of God of Columbus, GA officiating.
