She was born on December 6, 1948, in Jeffersonville, Indiana and grew up in Cookeville, Tennessee. She attended Tennessee Tech University and met and married Jim Larkins, her husband of 58 years. After Stephanie was born the couple transferred to Clark Air Base, Philippines, in 1972. After the birth of their second child, Katie, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and relocated to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1980. She and Jim raised their two daughters in Montgomery. Wynn attended nursing school at Auburn University of Montgomery and practiced nursing for almost 25 years at Baptist Hospital.
Wynn was generous to all and enjoyed animals and bird watching. She was a voracious reader her entire life and a confident wordsmith who worked daily newspaper crossword puzzles in ink. In her retirement, Wynn also enjoyed antiquing and spending time with her four grandchildren. Needless to say, “Nana” will be sorely missed by all.
Wynn was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Martha Horne. She is survived by her husband, Jim Larkins, of Montgomery, Alabama, her two daughters, Stephanie (Rick) Hill and Katie (Ryan) Healan, her four grandchildren, Francie Hill, Charlie Hill, Link Healan, and Wynn Healan. She is also survived by her two sisters, Susan Horne Robinson and Pamela Horne Blevins, and her nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Montgomery Humane Society, 1150 John Overton Drive, Montgomery, Alabama 36110.
