Aaron was born February 13, 1989, in Woodbridge, Virginia. He grew up in Berwick and attended Immanuel Christian School and later Berwick High School. After moving to Prairieville, he attended Dutchtown High School. He received his GED in 2006 at Faulkner Community College in Fairhope, Alabama. Aaron proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.
Aaron had an adventurous spirit and a personality that drew people to him. Aaron was a thrill seeker and thrived when challenged. He had a kind, generous soul and a heart that loved others. Aaron would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Growing up, he was full of energy. He loved nature and enjoyed being outdoors. Fishing, hunting, snowboarding, and riding dirt bikes were some of his favorite pastimes. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Aaron had a special bond with his mom, who had an especially tender heart for him and loved him unconditionally. Many happy memories were made with his dad during their time spent together racing dirt bikes and on frequent fishing and hunting trips. Aaron was his big sister’s real life baby doll, whom she loved to dress up and play with, which gave meaning to the saying “fought like brother and sister.” He was a great protector to his younger brother and helped guide him through life with a “do as I say, not as I do” approach.
You always knew you were in a room with Aaron because he made it warmer and more alive. “Where’s Aaron?” was a common phrase because you always noticed when he was gone. The colors became dimmer, and the conversation was less interesting. To be his friend was an honor, because he’d show up happily to fight your problems at any hour with whatever tools he had. His courage and loyalty were the foundation of a marriage to the love of his life, Renee, and his two children, Scarlett and Liam. He helped take care of them daily and cherished his time with them playing at the park, swimming, and jumping on the trampoline. They were his pride and joy.
Aaron is survived by his wife of 6 years, Renee Brooks Briehn; two beautiful children, Scarlett Grace Briehn, 5, and Liam Clay Briehn, 2; his parents, Clay and Vicki Briehn; one sister, Lauren Briehn Matte and her husband, Jeffrey; one brother, Nathan Briehn; his grandmother, Judy Wilson; three aunts, Cissy Wilson, Heather Briehn Ortis and her husband, Kevin, and Heidi Briehn Hatch and her husband, Todd; three nieces, Grace, Emma, and Sophie Matte; one nephew, Adam Matte; cousins, Avery Ortis, Hannah Hatch, Lucas Hatch, Aubrey Ortis, and Everett Ortis; and his beloved dog, Queenie.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill Wilson, Gene and Gaylen Briehn; one uncle, Kenneth Wilson; and one great-uncle, Lionel Landry.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, from 5:00-9:00 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City, Louisiana. Visitation will resume at Hargrave Funeral Home Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 9:00-11:00 am, with services beginning at 11:00 am.
