Alwin Adam Tabor born on Avoca Island, September 15, 1922 to the late Phillip and Ellen Tabor. Alwin was a lifelong resident of Amelia, passed away in Thibodeaux Regional Medical Center at the age of 93.
Alwin worked for Humble Oil, St. Mary Parish School Board and St. Mary Parish Water District. Alwin was a proud World War II Navy Veteran, serving in The Atlantic. He was a very dedicated family man he loved family gatherings and visiting them all. Alwin will be sadly missed by all who loved this wonderful man.
Alwin leaves behind his children Michael and his wife Judy Tabor of, Slidell, Sharon Boudreaux and husband Mike of, Amelia, Brian Tabor and wife Elizabeth of, Bayou Lourse` , Trudy Tabor of Amelia, and one step-son Louis Hebert of Lafayette. Brother Charles “Buck” Tabor of, Amelia, sister Evelyn Rhodes of, Patterson. Grandchildren Stephanie Johnson, Brent Tabor, Craig Tabor, Chantel Ohmer, Lee Boudreaux, Aaron Boudreaux, Jarred Tabor, and Brooke Darnell, eleven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerus relatives and friends.
Alwin was preceded in death by the two loves of his life Emelda Lee Tabor and Gladys Keller Hebert Tabor, parents Phillip and Ellen Tabor, siblings Vallie Boudreaux, Murphy “Bud” Tabor, and step-son Kenneth Hebert.
Visitation will be Thursday October 1, 2015 at Hargrave Funeral Home form 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm. Visitation will continue Friday October 2, 2015 at St. Andrew Catholic Church from 9.00 am until 11.00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11.00 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will conduct full Military Honors with a 21 Gun salute and presentation of the American Flag. Alwin will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Mausoleum.
