Belle was bold, outspoken, and never shy about letting you know exactly how she felt. Whether you agreed with her or not, you always knew where she stood, and that was part of her undeniable charm. It wasn’t just refreshing; it was downright humorous at times. People didn’t forget Belle easily, because once you met her, you never forgot her. But if you made her mad? Oh, you’d definitely remember that too—she didn’t hold back her words, and no one was ever left in the dark about what she thought.
But underneath that fiery exterior, Belle was the glue that held her family together. She was a fierce and loving mother, raising her babies with a strength and dedication that only she could offer. Her heart was big enough for more than just her own children—she always had room to care for others in the family. To her, family was everything. Her love for them was immeasurable, and her devotion to their well-being came first, always.
Belle worked hard throughout her life, providing for her family in every way she knew how. She spent years in restaurants, always on her feet, always giving her best. But if you really wanted to know the depth of her love, just look at her cooking. Belle was an amazing cook, and she knew that food was her love language. There was nothing better than sharing a meal she’d made from the heart, and her famous breakfast-for-dinner, red beans, and gumbo were some of the most requested dishes. Her love was seasoned with care, and she poured it into every dish she made.
Belle wasn’t just about food though; she had a thing for cleanliness. She took great pride in making sure everything was just right. Especially herself. She was always dressed immaculately and fashionably. And let's not forget her shopping adventures—oh, how she adored to shop. You’d often find her spending hours in a store, especially at her beloved Catos, looking at everything and anything. But did she ever walk out with bags in hand? Not quite. Belle was frugal, to say the least. She knew the value of a dollar and didn’t waste it on impulse buys. She’d leave empty-handed but always with a story about her shopping escapade, because, as we all know, that’s part of the fun.
If there’s one thing we all know, it’s that Belle loved to dance. Especially jitterbugging to some good music. Her joy was contagious, and she had a way of making everything a little more lively just by being in the room. Her openness, her heart, and her spirit made her a force to be reckoned with.
Belle may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. She will be deeply missed, but we take comfort knowing that she lived life fully, unapologetically, and with a heart as big as her personality.
Those left to cherish her beautiful memory is her daughter, Pam Wiggins of Morgan City; her sister, Evelyn Olivier; 11 grandchildren, Erin Angelo, Jeremy Toups, Danielle Wiggins, Justin Wiggins, Krissy Blanchard, Trey Arceneaux, Blake Wiggins, Nicole Arceneaux, Arian Wiggins, Macy Wiggins, and Austin Wiggins; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was reunited in heaven with her husband, Gerald Chassion; her children, Faron, Daron, and Matthew Wiggins; her parents, Earl and Florence Guillory and numerous siblings.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on March 8, 2025 from 10am until time of services at 12noon at Hargrave Funeral Home. Following services, Belle will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Those acting as pallbearers will be Justin Wiggins Sr., Trey Arceneaux, Blake Wiggins, Austin Wiggins, Hayden Blanchard, and Justin Wiggins Jr.
