Brenda was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life revolved around her family. To her, family was everything, and she made certain every loved one felt that truth through her constant care, generosity, and unwavering support. She was the backbone of those she loved, always willing to give anything she had to help someone in need. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, open to anyone seeking comfort or refuge. Brenda worked tirelessly to provide for her children, ensuring they had everything they needed as they grew, never allowing them to go without. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially outdoors—gathering in her yard, barbecuing, or tending to her lawn, a task she proudly continued even after back surgery. Fiercely independent and remarkably capable, Brenda was known as the one everyone turned to for help, advice, or fixing just about anything. Having endured the loss of many loved ones throughout her life, her family finds comfort in knowing that when Brenda passed, she was joyfully reunited with them in heaven—greeted by familiar faces, open arms, and a celebration worthy of the love she gave so freely. Surely, there was a joyous party in heaven when Brenda arrived.
Those left to cherish Brenda's beautiful memory are her two daughters, Tiffany Thibodeaux Wade and her husband, Danny, and Katie Ann Ortiz, and her husband, Marcel; two sisters, Earline Gadow, MD. and Audrey Dupuy; five grandchildren, Jasmine “Little Doo”, Meha, Kaitlyn “KO”, Marcel "Papi" Jr. Carmen, and two great grandchildren, Luca and Amir. She is also survived by her companion, Jose Hernandez; three step children, whom she loved, Gina Thibodeaux, Robyn Plumb, and Robert Thibodeaux; her best friend, Vickie G. Foret; numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister and brother-in-laws, and many other beloved family members dear to Brenda's heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie "Fred" Anthony Thibodeaux; her parents, Albert and Rose Foret; six brothers, Paul Foret, Calvin "Tee-Fra" Foret, Albert "Doo" Foret, Alvin "Choo-Choo" Foret, Ricky James Foret, and Joseph "Joe" Foret; and three sisters, Betty Jean LaJaunie, Adeline "Lea" Foret Verret Maddix, and Rose "Maemae" Foret Ugas.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 10:00am until 1:00pm with a sharing of memories taking place at 1:00pm, all at Hargrave Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held privately by the family at a later date.
