A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Bryan was truly one of a kind. Known for his quiet strength, generous heart, and a love as deep as it was enduring, he leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, laughter, and love.
Bryan was a man who knew how to love fully, and he showed that every day to the love of his life, Lisa. From the moment their eyes met on Halloween night in 1983—her drawn to his piercing blue eyes and rear end in Levi jeans—it was clear they were destined for something special. Their love story began that night and only grew stronger over the decades. In honor of that fateful evening, they chose to marry on their favorite holiday, Halloween, with their son Shane walking them down the aisle and the unforgettable Sister Tut officiating. Bryan treated Lisa like a princess and she grew to be his queen. They built a life together over 41 beautiful years, each one filled with humor, partnership, and unwavering support. Bryan was the calm “good cop” to Lisa’s fiery “bad cop,” and together they created a family full of love and laughter.
Professionally, Bryan was a hardworking man who made his mark in the oil industry, earning certification after certification and rising to every challenge that came his way. When health issues eventually led him to retire, he didn't slow down—instead, he turned his lifelong curiosity and hands-on skill into a new calling. Whether fixing appliances, building something from scraps, or simply figuring out how things worked, Bryan became lovingly known as “Mr. Fix-it” and “Mr. Scrapper.” His grandson proudly boasted, “My Papa can fix anything”—and it was true.
Though Bryan was a man of few words, when he spoke, people listened. He was the kind of person who valued character, and once he called you a friend, it was for life. His kindness was unassuming but deeply felt—he would give you the shirt off his back, and he never missed a chance to lift someone up with a kind word or compliment.
Bryan also knew how to enjoy life. He found peace and freedom on the back of his motorcycle or at the helm of his boat, with the wind in his hair and the world stretching out in front of him. He was most at home in nature, whether casting a line by the water’s edge or camping under the stars.
Bryan leaves behind more than memories—he leaves a legacy of love, resilience, kindness, and quiet strength. His life was a reminder that the most extraordinary people are often the ones who ask for little and give everything.
He will be missed dearly but remembered always, with gratitude and love, by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Bryan's wonderful memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Lisa Scully; three grandchildren, Ava Scully and her mother, Mikki Scully, and Cory Scully & Chrislynn Scully and their mother, Jasmine Guidry; two brothers, Lennis Scully Jr. and Howard Scully and his wife, Maria; his godchild, Austin Landry; several nieces and nephews and several cousins. He is also survived by his oldest son, Bryan Scully Jr.
He was joyfully reunited in heaven with his son, Shane Scully; his parents, Lennis and Maryann Scully; his brother, Chris Scully, and his niece, Meghan Scully.
The family requests that a time of visitation and joyful remembrance be observed on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 5:00 pm until time of dismissal at 9:00 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. A celebration of Bryan's life will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 6:15 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. In keeping with Bryan's wishes, final disposition will be held privately by the family.
