December 22, 1944 - March 10, 2015
Edward “E.J.” Hebert, a resident of Berwick, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, March 10, 2015 at the age of 71.
E.J. is survived by one son, Paul Hebert of Berwick; one daughter, Mary Hebert Jones and her husband, Timothy, of Franklin; one granddaughter, Alycia Jones of Franklin; and several aunts and uncles.
E.J. is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Meranta Hebert; his father, Edward P. Hebert; his mother, Inez Hebert; one grandson, Michael Jones; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
E.J. received a degree in Marine Design Drafting from Young Memorial College as their first graduate of the program. He used this knowledge to work in the area for 45 years before retiring in 2010. As the worship leader for Christ Gospel Church in Patterson, E.J. played guitar and led in song for over 30 years of dedicated service.
E.J. was a devoted husband and father who was known as a kind, friendly, generous, talented, and funny person who loved to cut up with those around him. He enjoyed playing his guitar and piano and singing, cooking, going camping, and spending time with his children, grandchild, and his “baby dogs”. He and his wife, Pam, had enjoyed a very close relationship, always near one another. They held hands everywhere they went, and though E.J. will be missed, great comfort can be taken from the fact that they are now reunited in Heaven.
Visitation will be observed Friday, March 13, 2015 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home and resume on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 9 am to 11 am at Christ Gospel Church of Patterson. The Homecoming Service will begin at 11 am with interment to follow at the Morgan City Cemetery as he is laid to rest next to his wife.
