Ernest was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord and lived his life with kindness and devotion. He found great joy in fishing and cherished the time he spent visiting with friends at his local McDonald’s, a place he affectionately referred to as his “office.” There, he shared countless stories, laughter, and friendships that meant so much to him. Ernest will be fondly remembered for his warm spirit, steadfast faith, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn “Sue” Gaspard of Morgan City; his son, Kim Gaspard and wife, Lila; his granddaughter, Sydni Pipsair and her husband, Chaz, of Pierre Part; and his two great-grandchildren, Porter and Monroe, who brought him immense pride and happiness. He is also survived by his brother, Vernon Gaspard; his sister, Laura Dupre and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was reunited in heaven with his parents, Prosser and Olive Gaspard; and two brothers, Randy and Lonnie Gaspard.
The family requests that a time of visitation be observed on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 9am until time of services which will begin promptly at 1pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Following services, Ernest will be laid to rest in the Belle River Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Belle River. Pastor and Friend, Jerry Jett will preside over the services.
