October 5, 1942- June 15, 2022
Franklin "FD" Pearce, Sr., lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the age of 79.
Franklin has always been a hard worker, with his true love Sandra by his side for 40+ years.
FD was an avid lover of the outdoors and spent much of his time in the boat; being out in the nature, on the water is probably why it was his calling to become a fisherman for most of his life; and was proudly able to pass his knowledge down to his next generation, his sons. FD enjoyed teaching his sons to hunt and fish, as well as sitting around with them, along with his grandsons and friends, drinking coffee and reminiscing about the old days. Those were times he treasured the most.
Those left behind to cherish Franklins memories are his daughter, Charlotte Riley and her fiancé Bryan; his four sons, Franklin Pearce Jr., Todd Pearce and his wife Veronica, Eugene Pearce and his wife Julie, and Casey Pearce; 20 grandchildren; and many many great, and great-great grandchildren. Franklin also leaves behind one brother, Arthur Pearce; three sisters, Barbara Morrison, Beatrice Pearce, and Bessie Breaux; and many friends he met through the years.
Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, Offord and Lorena Pearce; his wife, Sandra Persilver Pearce; two sisters, Bernice Pearce Ortis and Bertha Pearce Guillory; one daughter-in-law, Earline Pearce; one son-in-law, Eugene Riley; and one grandson, Franklin Pearce III.
A celebration of FD’s life will be on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 9am-2pm, at Hargrave Funeral Home; with services immediately following at 2pm.
Franklin will be laid to rest in The Morgan City Cemetery.
