Gloria L. Canova

Gloria was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and devotion touched countless lives. A proud parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she gave generously of her time and spirit, rarely missing an opportunity to attend or lend a helping hand. She found joy in gardening, nurturing beauty from the earth with the same care she gave her family. Gloria was committed to keeping herself strong in both body and faith, faithfully keeping up with aerobics and exercise. She had a deep love of travel and adventure, especially when it meant hitting the road with her girlfriends, sharing laughter along the way. Above all, she was a devoted and attentive mother, always keeping a watchful, loving eye on her children, fussing over them just enough to remind them how deeply they were cherished, with perhaps a little extra attention reserved for her oldest.

Those left to cherish Gloria’s wonderful memory are her three children, Brian Canova and his fiancé, Kristyn Guidry, Jason Canova and his fiancé, Rebecca Kuiper, and Amanda Bourque and her husband, Dustin; her eight grandchildren, Madison Kreger, Lyndon Canova, Kensyn Canova, Janson Canova, Annsley Canova, Allie Bourque, Channing Bourque, and Trevor Bourque; and her two great grandchildren, Olivier Kreger and Isabella Kreger. She is also survived by two siblings, Cecilia Castania and Gene Landry and his wife, Kate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Canova Jr; her parents, Clebert Joseph Landry and Louise Marie Rousseau Landry and her siblings, Marguerite Boudreaux, and Lois Salvadras.

The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 9:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a rosary being prayed at 10:00 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Gloria on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Brett Lapeyrouse presiding over services. Graveside services for Gloria will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation and thanks to Bridgeway Hospice for the care, dedication, and assistance they provided to Gloria in these last few days.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City, Louisiana.
