

Born on September 19, 1956, John proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1974 until his retirement in 2002 as a Chief Boatswain’s Mate. His commitment to his country didn’t end there—he continued serving as a civilian with the Coast Guard under the Department of Homeland Security as a Port Security Specialist, where he remained until his passing.
Above all else, family was the most important part of John’s life. He is survived by his three children: Barbara (Scott), John (Kate), and Ryan (Melissa). He adored his grandchildren: Andrew (Becky), Tyler, Kyleigh, Adam, Colin, Shelby, and Evelyn, and cherished every moment spent with them.
John is also survived by his siblings Brian (Jeanna) and Kevin (Rich). He was predeceased by his siblings David (Joyce) and Joanne. John’s parents, John and Margaret, also preceded him in death.
John will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, kind heart, and deep love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A private service will be held to honor his life.
