Louetta Lee Fuselier, most commonly known as Tootsie, passed away April 12, 2022 at the age of 68. Tootsie had an infectious smile and loved being around family and friends. Like her mother Mechie, she always found the humorous side of life. She was extremely kind and the first to help when someone was in need. She was a devoted sister, mother and grandmother.
Her parents, Joe and Amelia Fuselier, raised their children Judy, Henry, Merlie, Tootsie, and Mitchell in Morgan City, Louisiana. Tootsie loved fishing with her brothers and cooking with her sister.
Tootsie married AJ Blanchard and had two amazing children Jennifer and Jeffrey. During Jennifer’s days of showing horses, Tootsie served as her “personal horse groomer” and supported her every step of the way. Tootsie even learned to ride equestrian atop her favorite horse Dan. Jeffrey’s love of sports led her to volunteer to coach his soccer team. Tootsie and Jeff’s mutual love for LSU football was a special bond between them. Tootsie earned her LPN degree and treated every patient with unending love and respect. She ministered to her patients with a sense of humor and respected their quality of life. She was blessed with five granddaughters who adored and admired her.
Tootsie is survived by her daughter Jennifer Blanchard Loupe of Morgan City, LA and her husband Neil; her son Jeffrey Blanchard and his wife Kendal Harwell Blanchard of Fairhope, AL, and her 5 granddaughters Addison, Elodie, Meredith, Anneliese, and Havolynne; brothers Henry Fuselier of Houston, TX and his wife Milly, Merlie Fuselier of Baton Rouge, LA and his wife Amanda, and her baby brother Mitchell Fuselier of Breaux Bridge, LA and his wife Lori. Her parents Joe and Amelia Fuselier met her at the gates of heaven. She was also preceded in death by her sister Judy Fuselier Lambert.
A Christian service for Tootsie's ashes will take place at a later date to accommodate family traveling. Tootsie will be laid to rest with her parents in the Sallier Cemetery in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
