Mitchell "Chop" Keith Fears, age 68, of Stephensville, LA passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 2, 1954 to the late Arthur and Lila Glass Fears in Camilla, GA.
Chop retired from Conrad Industries after dedicating himself for 25 years. He was a selfless and giving person. Chop never met a stranger, he befriended all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was a collector at heart. He collected various items but he enjoyed collecting coins the most. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, raising chickens and giving eggs away. He enjoyed riding around with his Chihuahuas, Jody and Bella before they passed away. Chop's greatest accomplishments were his family. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and being with his wife.
He is preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Davis C. and Sylvia Rhodes and his sisters, Sue Phillips and Myrl Bagwell.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife shy of 50 years, Dolores Rhodes Fears; daughter, Beth Ribardi and her husband Derek; sons, Chad Fears and Brandon Fears and his wife Sarah. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Alexandria Acosta, Gabriella Acosta, Isabella Ribardi, Emily Ribardi, Connor Fears, McKenzie Fears, Teagan Fears, Sophie Fears, Phoebe Fears; siblings, Hazel Hatcher, Bennie Fears, Ronald Fears, Necie Opperman, Kaye Gussman, Glynn Fears, George Fears and Claire Demoss; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 9am to 11am with a Funeral Service immediately following. He will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Fears, Chad Fears, Glynn Fears, George Fears, Kim Rhodes and Greg Guidry.
