

Nelson P. Anslem Jr.,73 , a lifelong resident of Morgan City passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Nelson passed away at his home while surrounded by his loving family.
Nelson was a very loving and GIVING person who enjoyed spending his spare time at Marksville and The Grand Casino . He was a workaholic where he eventually owned his own business for 28 years; Anslem’s Machine Shop. He was an avid outdoorsman where he loved fishing, hunting and going to the camp. He loved spending time with his family and also loved his swamp pop music.
Nelson is survived by his four children, David P. Anslem and his wife, Ann, of Cape Cod, MA, Sissy Patin and her husband, Kelly “Noopy” of Cecilia, LA, Kirk Anslem of St. Martinville, LA, and Shane A. Anslem and his wife, Heather, of Cecilia, LA; four siblings Betty Jean Broussard and husband Al of Loreauville, LA, Mary Ann Keller of Lafayette, LA, Dianne Rulf of Stephenville, LA and Susan Serrette of Minden, LA and his companion Linda Keller; 16 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren with 1 expecting in March.
He was preceded in death by his best friend and wife Rose "Fay" Anslem; parents Paul Nelson Anslem and Rita Mae East Anslem; one sister Margaret Anslem; 11 brother-in- laws and two sister-in-laws.
The family request that visitation be observed Friday, Januray 7, 2022 at 9 am until time of service at 2pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Rosary will begin at 1:30 PM. Nelson will be laid to rest at the Morgan City cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Glenn Rulf, Jr., Kevin East, Wendell Keller, Seth Anslem, David Anslem Jr., Haley Anslem, Joel Anslem, & Trent Anslem. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie East, Ronnie Brown, & Kelly (Noopy) Patin.
