Sidney Paul Hebert Sr. born May 4, 1928 passed away December 31, 2012 at Franklin Foundation Hospital after a brief illness.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy Sea Bees stationed at Tinian Island where he participated in building of air strips to facilitate planes used in bombing of Japan.
Mr. Hebert was a lifelong resident of Morgan City area with businesses including Co- Owner of Hebert Brothers Gulf Service stations in Berwick and Bayou Vista. In 1964 he became Co- Owner of Hebert Brothers Dodge until retirement in 1998.
He is survived by two sons Sidney Hebert Jr. of Patterson and Randy Hebert of Chattanooga, Tn. One daughter Linda Kober of Cane City, Ar. Grandchildren Sam Hebert, Sidney Hebert III (Tre’) and Emily Hebert of Patterson, Jaysen Hebert and Sarah Fears of Berwick of Berwick Jim Kober, Jr. of Morgan City and Paul Kober of Cane City, Ar. also ten greatgrandchildren, one great- great grandson, his brother A.J. Hebert, his sisters Merian Hebert Rock , Agnes Hebert Mendoza, Lillian Hebert Dipum, and Eunice Hebert Mayers, and his best buddy George Blanchard.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life Ruth (Tina) Vining Hebert his wife of 59 years, his granddaughter Mary Katherine Kober, his parents Joseph and Lucille Aucoin Hebert, three sisters and five brothers.
Pall Bearers to serve will be Jaysen, Sam and Tre Hebert Paul and Jim Kober Jr. and Brandon Fears.
Visitation will be Thursday January 3, 2013 from 6- 9 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home, with rosary services at 7 pm. Continuing Friday January 4, 2013 9 until 11 am . Funeral services will be at 11 am at Hargrave Funeral Home. The East St. Mary Funeral Squad will conduct Military Honors. Mr. Hebert will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
