Valane Ann Solar

Valane was a devoted mother and a loving grandmother whose greatest joy was her grandson, Jayce, truly the apple of her eye. She rarely missed his sporting events, proudly cheering him on from the stands. Valane found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—shopping trips, traveling to Mississippi with her best friend Karen, riding in her Jeep with the top down, and faithfully attending Bayou Vista Community Fellowship. She also deeply cherished her beloved fur baby, Mini, who held a special place in her heart.

Valane's beautiful memory will forever be held in the hearts of her daughter, Lauryssa LaCoste; her grandson, Jayce Granger; her brothers, James Solar and his wife, Lina, Robert Solar, Eric Solar, and Nicholas Solar; and her best friend who was like a sister, Karen Ashley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Shirley Solar and three sisters, Gayle, Debra and Ann Solar.

Family, Friends and members of the community are invited to attend the visitation for Valane on Monday, December 22, 2025 beginning at 11:00am until service time, which is at 1:00pm, at Hargrave Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

We are so grateful for the comfort and support provided by Billy Lacoste and his fiancé which was a very dear friend to Valane. Your presence, thoughtful gestures and selflessness will forever be appreciated.
