Candace Marie Miel

Candace Marie Miel, age 32 of Muskegon, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015. She was born July 21, 1982 in Muskegon to Richard Miel Jr. and Jeanette Berry. Candace graduated from Montague High School. She then went on to graduate from Baker College with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development. Candace attended Shelby Road Baptist Church. She worked for the Orchard View and the Oceana Head Start Program. Candace had a deep love for children. She loved spending time with her family and the kids. Candace is preceded in death by her father, Richard Miel, Jr.; her grandmother, Jeanette Downey; her grandfather, Clifford Greenland; her niece, Keira England; and her great grandmother, Helen Purcell. She is survived by her daughter, Angel Birdsley; mother, Jeanette (Terry Burns) Berry; her sisters, Samantha Mari, and Katrina Stefanich; her grandparents, Gary and JoAnn Perreault, Lucky Berry, and Wilda Miel; her many nieces and nephews; her former husband, Dan Birdsley; and many friends and extended family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 11am at Shelby Road Baptist Church; 4066 W. Shelby Rd. in Shelby, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the family.
