Mr. David R. Martinez, age 59, passed away at home under the loving care of his family. David is survived by his wife, Kim; his mother, Guadalupe Martinez; four children, Jeff Jourdon, Adam (Chandra) Martinez; Stephanie (James) Percy, Alexandrea ‘Lexy’ Martinez; two grandchildren, Samantha and Brandon; eight siblings, Frank (Amita) Martinez, Maria ‘Hope’ Varela, Gloria (Alfonso) Torres, Betty (George) Hinton, Olga Toscano, Linda Castandeda, Demetrio (Pam) Martinez, Jr. and Gerard Martinez, along with several nieces and nephews, and a very special niece, Darcey Toscano. He was preceded in death by his father, Demetrio Martinez and a brother, Emilio Galvan. David was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War; he worked 30 years with sealed Power and also for Port City Group. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. David was a lifetime member of VFW Post 446, 165 S. Getty Street, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to help with his funeral expenses.
