David William Vanderplow

Dave graduated from Fruitport High School in 1988 and went on to study at Michigan State University. When he began his working career, he worked for Vanderplow distributing until 2000 and then went on to work for Shape corp. until 2020. He was most recently employed with Haworth. Dave was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hiking, kayaking, camping, and getting lost in nature. He was a sports lover his entire life and was a big fan of the Detroit Lions and the MSU Spartans. He was a social butterfly and would always know someone anywhere he went. He made friends easy and was a goofy, sarcastic, and fun-loving guy. He will be dearly missed.

Dave was preceded in death by: mother, Mardie Owen; sister, Gwen Vanderplow; brother, Johnny Vanderplow; and grandmother, Martha Owen.

Dave is survived by: daughter, Rachel (Adrian) Carrier; grandson, Myles Carrier; father, Bill Vanderplow; brother, Robert (Debbie) Vanderplow; niece, Lauren Vanderplow; and lifelong family friends, Jake Fox, and Mary and Bruce Muma and their daughter Jasmine.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Dave's funeral fund may be made directly to Ever Rest Funeral Home.
