

Deanna Jean Blanchong-Pickett, formerly known as Deanna Jean Holcomb, passed away on July 23, 2023, at the age of 83 in Austin, Texas. She was born on July 2, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Deanna was a strong, generous and outgoing individual.
Deanna is survived by her loving daughters, Karen Rivera and Laura Kwak, her son Richard Blanchong Jr, her grandchildren Alex Mehring, Diana Kwak, Alan Kwak, Frank Kwak, her great-granddaughters Amelia Mehring and Olivia Mehring. She was preceded in death by her father, Jay Holcomb, her mother, Ann Holcomb, her first husband, Richard Blanchong Sr, and her second husband, James Pickett.
In her younger years, Deanna attended DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, Ohio. Throughout her career, she worked as a secretary, pharmacy technician, and volunteer coordinator. She dedicated her time and skills to various organizations and made a positive impact within her community.
Deanna had many interests and hobbies that brought her joy throughout her life. She had a talent for sewing and quilting, creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her loved ones. She also had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed playing various instruments. She had a love of words and reading. Deanna had a special place in her heart for dogs and was known for her love and compassion towards them.
The funeral service for Deanna will be held at St. John Cantius Church Cemetery in Freesoil, Michigan, on August 11, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Austin Humane Society. She had a passion for helping animals in need.
Deanna will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her warm heart, kind spirit and creative talents will be forever remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.
