Donna Kaffenberger

She was born on December 14, 1935 in Brethren, Michigan to her parents, Pete and Evelyn Nunamaker. Donna graduated from Brethren High School in 1954. She worked at Glen of Michigan in Manistee, Michigan for several years before moving to Muskegon, Michigan. After moving to Muskegon, she worked at Muskegon Awning and Manufacturing until her retirement. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary 7729.

Donna married Leonard “Jay” Kaffenberger on December 20, 1974, who survives her.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Elaine Hendrickson; her brother, James Nunamaker; and 2 stepsons, David and Michael Kaffenberger.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Sheila) Merrill of Bear Lake, Randy (Deanna) Merrill of Kentwood, and Tammy (Sal Vickers) Merrill of Muskegon; her stepchildren, Butch (Debbie) Kaffenberger, James (Sue) Kaffenberger, and Teresa Hanson all of Grand Haven; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; her brother, Larry Nunamaker of Harrietta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 11 am at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel located at 1783 East Keating Ave in Muskegon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Poppen Hospice House in Muskegon at 1050 W. Western Ave., Suite 400, Muskegon, MI 49441.
