Douglas McLaughlin went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2015. Doug was born in Southfield, Michigan. He worked at the Muskegon County Road Commission and served in the Army in Vietnam. He was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church. Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, leather crafting, and riding his Harley, but more than anything he loved his family. Doug is now looking down, smiling, and saying, “I made it!” Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynette McLaughlin; his step children, Chris (Eve) Lawrence, and Emily (Jason) Kienke; his brothers, Ron (Linda), Ken (Renee), and Keith (Marianne) McLaughlin; and his special pet, Lola. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Charles. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Ever Rest Funeral Home, 1783 E. Keating Ave. in Muskegon. The family will receive visitors at 10am, with the service beginning at 11am. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
