

Frances M. Nieboer, age 83, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on December 2, 2012. Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Max “Red” Nieboer in September of 2006. She is survived by 5 children, Tom Nieboer, Sharon Bluhm, Bob (Kathy) Nieboer, Larry Nieboer, Dan (Julie) Nieboer; grandchildren, Emily (Kurt) Edenburn, Tom Nieboer, Jr., Kate (Brad) Jorissen, Lissa (John) Hollingsworth, Jacob Nieboer, Haley Nieboer, Jackie (Josh) Presson, Jennifer Nieboer, Josh Nieboer, Lucas Nieboer and Jessie Nieboer, and Craig (Kim) Schultz; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Benjamin; sister-in-law, Pauline Young. Along with her husband, Fran was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Benjamin. Fran was a caregiver all her life, she worked in nursing homes and was retired after many years of service from the Pioneer House where she worked with the mentally and physically challenged and was loved for all her tender care. She was a wonderful grandmother who loved to spend time with grandchildren, especially at the family cabin up north. When her children were young, she spent time as a Sunday School Teacher, Girl Scout leader, square dancer and gardener. Fran was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church and spent her last years at the King Home in Rothbury. According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
