Mr. Gerald F. Spencer, age 90, went to be with his Lord on August 13, 2011. Born in Twining, MI on November 27, 1920. He served in the Army Air Corp. (Mechanic) in World War II. He was proudly a member of Don Rea Post 8846 (VFW) and served on the Honor Guard and on the County Council. In heaven he joins his first wife, Bea, children, Marilyn Stanhope, Connie Grimard and Jerry Spencer, Jr. SURVIVORS include wife, Sarah; daughter, Becky (Robert) Bell; brothers, Charles Spenser and friend Leona, Ken, Jimmy and Richard Spencer; sisters, Iva (Ed) Simot, Dee (Doyle) Cleland, Kathy & Sherry, Clara Alford (deceased), Ida Bell (deceased); step-children, Phil Dixon and Rita, Colleen Patterson, Marv (Melony) Dixon, Fred (Linda) Dixon; special sister-in-law, Mary Bower; special pets, Duke and Duchess; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. MEMORIAL SERVICE at the VFW Don Rea Post No. 8846, Wickham Drive in North Muskegon, at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2011. In lieu of flowers please consider a monetary gift to the Spencer family.
