Jerry Wiles was born on November 25, 1943, alongside his identical twin brother, Lee Wiles.
He retired from Herman Miller after 19 years of dedicated service. During that time, Jerry faithfully served as a Shop Steward for 12 years and was proud to be part of the Local 410 Union Bargaining Unit.
Jerry married the love of his life, Carolyn Slater, and together they shared many wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and companionship.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Royal Wiles; his beloved daughter, Lisa Lynn Wiles; his brothers Thomas Wiles, Jr., James Wiles, Larry Wiles, and his identical twin brother and best friend, Lee Wiles; and his sisters Thelma Wiles and Wilma Wiles Court.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Carolyn, and his stepsons, Martin, Bruce, Jeff, Kirk, and James Tjapkes; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Wasinski of Port St. Lucie, Florida, along with many nieces and nephews, and his church family. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Scooter.
Jerry enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, playing the Michigan Lottery, and visiting the casino. One of his greatest joys was camping at their trailer with Carolyn, making memories together in the outdoors.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Friday, January 20th, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 1783 E Keating Avenue. The service will be officiated by Pastor Russell Damm, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM. After the burial, a luncheon will take place at Oak Crest Church, located at 1540 Leonard Ave, Muskegon, Michigan 49442.
