James Kenneth Goodman

Jim was born on November 11th 1939 in Troy, TN. to Earlean and James “Grady” Goodman. He retired from Webb Chemical with over 25 years of service. He loved and cared for his family, and those he considered family, above all else. He was always the first to lend a hug, a hand, or a listening ear. Jim enjoyed nothing more than having as many family members as possible visiting and spending time at the family cabin, which he named "Goodman's Keeps me Broke". For over 50 years, he looked forward to the annual family canoe trip down the Pine River, and the campfires and cookouts that would take place after. Jim was an avid Detroit Lions fan. A loyal season ticket holder for many years, attending games with his friend Ron Beckley. There was never a question of what his plans were on Sunday. A proud United States Marine Veteran with a gentle demeanor. Jim was a lover of all animals, providing a good life for so many fortunate dogs and cats over the years. He was rarely if ever seen without a dog by his side. Jim will be deeply missed by many.

Jim's legacy will live on through those who survive him: his brother, Charles (Donna) Goodman: sister, Carol McIntyre: his children, Cathy Ensign, Brenda (Daniel) Goodman, and Laura (Gregory) Goodman Dyga; sister in-law, Genevieve (Doug) Harmsen; daughter in-law, Roberta Goodman; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many of whom he considered to be not just friends, but honorary family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette, who he married on June 20th 1957; his son James "Bug”; son-in-law, Bill Ensign; and his sister Phyllis.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel 1783 E Keating Avenue. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
